So, so, my ugly sandwich ended up being quite controversial! hehe. I do buy the shiitake spread in the supermarket, I'm sorry I don't have a recipe for it! It's very tasty and I cannot tell you how many dinners it has solved. The pickled shiitakes are very common in Russia (my boyfriend's country of origin), although we're not completely sure that they're really shiitakes. It's how they're translated, but it could be that it's just a similar kind of mushrooms?
Enough with the shiitakes!
I'm not cooking as much as I wanted. Things at work are not so great (I came back today in the middle of the day because I wasn't feeling very well). They're putting a lot of pressure on me to tell the managers about what happened. But it leaves me in a very bad psycological condition, so I think I'm not going to talk about it again (although they already made an appointment for me for Friday again). I'm not in a circus.
Were you surprised by the title of my post? No, I'm not trying to steal the crown of Chocolate Covered Vegan, aka the chopstick queen... But we had these super tasty gnocchi with onions and zucchini and soy cream, and not a single fork OR spoon. They were all in the dishwasher! And the dishwasher was on!
But we just couldn't wait for the gnocchi to get cold and nasty... Chopsticks it was!
It wasn't pretty... But somehow I managed to eat all of them!
I know, I know, not too interesting, but I promise there will be cake! in the next post. Cake!

Gnocchi!! Love the stuff.
Can't wait to see the cake!! Glad that you're still baking :0)
Are you kidding? Gnocchi is always interesting! One of my fave foods even though I haven't ever tried making it from scratch!
Good luck with all the work drama!
I'm sorry you are still having trouble with your job. It would be nice if they would just leave you alone so you could finish out your time in peace!
Gnocchi! Yummy! We tried to make gnocchi once before and it turned out horribly. We'll definitely try again though. Haha, we would have eaten with chopsticks too had our dishes been dirty!
I love Gnocchi...I've got to learn how to make my own sometime.
Cake you say? Heck yes!
sorry work's crummy, Alice! argh - that stinks!
but i think your gnocchi looks awesome! i want to put it all in my face! how fun on enjoying it with chopsticks! yay!
can't wait for cake! mmmmmmmmm!
Let us drown our troubles in CAKE! Wooo hooo! And I just love gnocchi, too!
Evil work bastards, I'm so sorry.
Jetzt musste ich aber laut lachen! I rarely eat with chopsticks, because I suck at it. They would be helpful if I was on a diet though. I love, love, love gnocchi.
Hang in there. I hope those work jerks finally leave you alone!
OH YUM!! I was just thinking about making gnocchi today and now you post this! It's meant to be! Though I will be eating them with a fork, I can't use chopsticks to save my life!
Stay strong! Don't let those jerks put you down!
I've got to day... I would have just used my hands!!
From your sandwich photo, the mushrooms certainly look like shiitakes! I love gnocchi and haven't eaten it in a while. I think you've inspired me!
Amazing, eating gnocchi with chopsticks. I can't eat anything with chopsticks. Seems I'm never patient enough. Sounds like a good combination: zuchinni, soy-cream and gnocchi. Did you make them yourself?
Darn, too bad about the shiitake spread.
But you are welcome to share my chopstick crown because you are such a sweet friend!
I’m excited about the cake. Yayyyyy!
woohoo! gnocchi! with chopsticks!
hooray cake!
i've never tried gnocchi, i've always thought it looks awkward haha.
this dish sounds great! Can't wait to see the cake you have in store.
Yum! I love gnocchi. And eating with chopsticks is always fun times.
Good luck with stuff at work. I know how much it can suck. :-/
Sorry that work is still so yucky. Be strong and hopefully things will be resolved soon - one way or another. I love gnocchi so very much! I haven't had it in so long, thanks for the reminder!
times of stress+times of comfort food=gnocchi. Yum.
everything tastes better with chopsticks. (ok, *almost* everything)
